Eko Osta Ltd. (SIA) to become an Eco Baltia Group company

Eko Osta, Latvia's leading collection and recycling company for environmentally harmful and hazardous waste, will become a member of the Eco Baltia Group, the largest environmental resource management and recycling company in the Baltics. This is provided for in the purchase agreement concluded by the parties, which is subject to the Latvian merger clearance from the Competition Council (CC).


For more than 20 years, Eko Osta has been collecting and recycling environmentally harmful and hazardous waste, providing it’s customers with excellent quality services that meet the highest environmental requirements. 


With the closing of the transaction, Eko Osta will become one of the Eco Baltia Group's companies in the environmental management sector, specialising in the management of hazardous and environmentally harmful waste. Eko Osta will continue to operate as before - no changes are planned to the existing cooperation agreements and arrangements for customers, partners and employees. 


Eco Baltia is the largest and fastest growing environmental resource management group in the Baltics by turnover, providing a full waste management cycle from waste collection and sorting to recycled materials logistics, wholesale and recycling. 


The Group has more than 2 300 employees in Latvia, Lithuania and the Czech Republic. Its leading companies are PET Baltija, Eco Baltia vide, Latvijas zaļais punkts, Nordic Plast, JUMIS, Sigulda, TESIL Fibres from the Czech Republic, UAB Ecoservice, based in Lithuania, and Pilsētas Eko Serviss. In November 2023, the Group, in partnership with INVL Baltic Sea Growth Fund, completed the acquisition of 70% of Metal-Plast, the largest recycler of PVC window and door profiles in Poland. 


Eco Baltia's shareholders are the private equity fund INVL Baltic Sea Growth Fund (52.81%), the European Bank for Reconstruction and Development (30.51%) and Māris Simanovičs (16.68%).
